Individuals, organizations and countries are being asked to observe a Minute of Silence - Moment of Peace on the UN International Day of Peace, September 21, at 12noon local time. This simple yet profound and practical action demonstrates that personal and planetary peace are one.

We are connected to all life throughout time and space, shaped by generations past, connected today around the globe, shaping our generations to come. Celebrating the UN International Day of Peace, Classical Music For the World is sending out a message to inspire and unite people through the medium of classical music from the heart of Texas. This year, our carefully arranged music selections will be performed for memorializing those who have died from the pandemic and political violence throughout the world. We hope the music we share will comfort families and friends who are grieving from the loss of loved ones. Considering the current Covid-19 situation, we are minimizing the number of participating musicians; most of the programs will be solo performances except a string ensemble performing "Arirang," a traditional Korean folk song. Masks are encouraged at the event. Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on September 21, which the United Nations General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace. As an organization devoted to sharing the healing, life-affirming and connecting nature of classical music, CMFW is proud to share the gift of music as part of this International Day of Peace.
